Hypericon 4

This year's Hypericon was a blast! Unlike last year—when I simply
hung out with the guys—I actually participated in the schedule of
events. I had two book signings, read my story “Cumberland
Furnace” at a reading of six authors, and was on three panels:
“What Are You Reading Now?”, “Horror with a Southern
Twang”, and “Building the Perfect (or Imperfect)
Antagonist/Protagonist”. A busy agenda to be sure, but just one of
the many ingredients of the best convention I've ever attended so far in
my career.
It was great to see many familiar faces there, as well as encounter alot
of people in the business I've wanted to meet for a very long time. I'd
like to thank the following folks for making Hypericon 4 so enjoyable
and special for me this year:
Fred Grimm, Joe R. Lansdale, Kasey Lansdale, Alex McVey, Steven
Gilberts, Fran Friel, James Newman, Randy Fox, Stephen Lloyd, Mark
Hickerson, Tod Clark, Donn Gash, Deborah LeBlanc, Stephen Shrewsbury,
Matt & Deena Warner, Mari Adkins, Jason Sizemore, Kent Allard & his
wife, Troy and the boys, Derek, John Horner, Matt Wallace, and probably
a dozen more that I may have forgotten to mention.
